Chapter 1: The Start of Something.


Our story begins on a warm sunny afternoon on the planet Mobius. Sonic is taking a break from his usual adventures and is relaxing on the beach. Taking a nap he is dreaming of some of his past battle against Eggman. In the middle of it all Sonic hears a voice calling his name

“Sonic!!” the voice said. It sounded like Tails. Sonic rose up off of his chair to see whom it was. It turns out it was Tails flying towards him. “Sonic” he said while trying to catch his breath as he lands right next to him “Sonic, I’m glad that I found you”

“Hey Tails, what’s up??” Sonic said. “It’s been awhile, what have you been up to?”

“Nothing really Sonic but you gotta come quickly” Tails said. “Eggman is up to something again.”

Sonic facepalms, “The man never gives up, what’s he up to this time?”

“I’m not so sure, but there has been a lot of his robots around the Great Forest.” Tails said. “It looked like they we closing in on some sort of ancient ruins”

Sonic looks slightly confused, as he never remembered seeing any ruins in the forest, other than the Mystic Ruins, but they are far away from that area. “Ruins in the Great Forest?”

“Yes” Tails said. “Do you ever see any ruins in the Great Forest?”

“Not that I recall Tails” Sonic said. “Anyways lets get going Tails.”

“Right.”

Sonic gets up and they run off the beach and into the forest. Everything seems quiet right now. There have been no signs of any Eggman presence where they were, but as they began to move deeper there is more evidence saying Eggman was there. While they are running Sonic turns to Tails.

“So what would Eggman want in an old ruins site” asked Sonic. He confused that Eggman has a history of destroying old ruins. So this was a surprise to the blue hedgehog.

“It looked like they were searching for something” Tails said, “What they were looking for I couldn’t tell without get close”

“Its fine Tails, but this is strange isn’t it?”

“With Eggman, nothing is strange Sonic.”

As they keep running more off Eggman’s robots are seen. Too much than what normally would be seen for something like this, even for Eggman’s standards. Eggman was definitely up to something

‘There is so many robots Tails.” Sonic said.

“Whatever he is looking for, it has to be important is that we have to stop him.” Tails said

“Right!” Sonic said with a look of determination on his face.

They arrive in a clearing in the forest. There are some old, crumbled pillars in the area and then some robots show up. They were SWATbots, the ones Eggman haven’t used in years but there is something different this time. They look more formidable than before, though Sonic wasn’t as concerned. The SWATbots began to fire upon the two and they quickly dodged and counter attacked. Though they looked upgraded they still fell apart quickly. As Sonic and Tails defeated them more robots showed up, everything from the Eggbots, Buzz Bombers, and all of Eggman’s old robots appeared.

“Sonic, He’s using all of his old robots again!” Tails said with a bit of anger in his voice

“No kidding, Buzz Bombers? It’s been awhile since I faced them.” Sonic said as he was attacking them.

All the suddenly Eggman appears in his flying egg-chair (someone wanna tell me what the technical term is it would be appreciated) and is obviously mad at the recent development of Sonic and Tails showing up and stopping his plans.

“Why you miserable little rodent, you are interfering with my work again!” Eggman said with anger in his voice.

“Eggman!” Sonic and Tails said at the same exact time.

“Why do you always get in my way and try to stop me?” Eggman said, even though he pretty much knows the answer.

“Why it has been my job for awhile now hasn’t it?” Sonic said in a joking manner. Tails also chuckles at his comment. “Its also because I don’t like you.”
“Heh.” Eggman says but his voice starts to get an evil tone to it, “you wont be able to stop me this time”

“We will see about that Eggman, right Tails??” said Sonic with a grin

“Right” Tails said.

“Oh we will…” Eggman says as more SWATbots show up

“No problem” Sonic says as he swiftly takes down the robots. But as he does more keep showing up. “Man they just keeps coming.”

As Sonic and Tails destroy the SWATbots more and more keep showing up. They see a figure that is also destroying the SWATbots, more than they are. Eggman is concerned now that there is a 3rd person destroying the SWATbots.

“What this?” Eggman said

“Your worst nightmare” said the figure with anger in his voice. The figure appears to be a wolf

“Stop that wolf!!” Eggman said with slight concern in his voice. Sonic and Tails finish off a few SWATbots they were fighting and watch what the wolf is doing.

“Hmph this will be easy.” the wolf said. The wolf begins wrecking more of the robots.

“Sonic you think he is on our side??” Tails asked.

“It appears so Tails.” Sonic said. “We should help him out” They then join in the fight with the wolf. The wolf is taking down more SWATbots than Sonic and Tails are. Sonic is beginning to think the wolf may have a personal beef with Eggman. Now about 70% of Eggman’s SWATbots that he brought with him are now destroyed.

“Arrgh, Retreat!!” Eggman yells with real concern in his voice and the bots begin to retreat. He clearly did not anticipate Sonic and Tails being there, along with the wolf. “Well, no matter but once I find what I’m looking for you WON’T be able to stop me” Eggman then said with confidence. He begins to fly away, but he is hit with a part of a destroyed robot thrown by the wolf and he turns around.

“I’m going to stop you if it’s the last thing I will ever do!!” the wolf said

“Now who are you?” Eggman asks

“You don’t remember me?” The wolf asked. “I’m saddened but I shouldn't be surprised since the last time you saw me was 10 years ago WHEN YOU KILLED MY PARENTS!!” Eggman looks confused and he is trying to remember who he is. “You killed my family, you killed my clan: the Myarque. You destroyed my childhood. I waited 10 years for this, now its time to avenge them.”

Eggman realizes who he is. “So you’re the one who got away all those years ago.”

“Indeed” the wolf said. “I am Ben the Wolf, and I will make sure YOU WONT SUCCEED!!”

“Arrgh!! We will see about that” Eggman exclaimed

“Oh we will Eggman” Ben said. “You better start counting down your days Eggman because you will be the architect of your own defeat!”

Eggman then leaves the area, defeated. Sonic and Tails walk towards Ben, he is a grey Mobian Wolf with black hair who is slightly taller than Sonic. He has a camo backpack with a curved knife on his side. He has red eyes but after Eggman leaves his eyes turned back in his natural green/hazel color, which you can see through his sunglasses. He turns around and looks at Sonic and Tails.

“Sonic, is that you brotha??” Ben asked

“Ben?” Sonic says with a laugh. “It’s been, what 10 years has it?”

“Yea, something like that.”

“How have you been man??

“Alight I guess.” Ben exclaimed with a bit of a smile. “Considering I have been with the Mobian Marines and ‘The Fall’”

“Sonic, who is this?” Tails asked confusingly.

“Tails this is Ben, he’s an old friend of mine.” Sonic says while Ben nods. “He was apart of the clan that protected the Great Forest…”

“Until Eggman, known as Robotnik back then, destroyed us, I survived and I think a few others might have survived to. I’m not entirely sure.” Ben says with a sadden tone. “I know my older and younger sister weren't there when Robotnik attacked. They were both in Mobotropolis. Rachel my older sister was at the university and Ashley, my younger sister was at the nursery when it happened.”

“Then Mobotropolis fell a week later” Sonic said.

“I was told that at base camp.” Ben said. “Did the king heed my warning?”

“Robotnik attacked a week later” Sonic said with a sad look. “I’m not sure if he believed you and if so we weren’t ready.”

“I don’t blame him.” Ben said. “After all I was an 8 year old pup back then.”

“Mobotropolis?” Tails asked.

“The city I was born in, Tails” Sonic said. “Ben used to visit frequently when…”

“Master Paragon Uganda, the leader of the Myarque, used to visit the King quite frequently.” Ben said, “The King always enjoyed is input on certain matters.”

“Yea when they usually met, Ben would hang out with Uncle Chuck and I,” Sonic said.

“Speaking of Uncle Chuck and the King” Ben said with questioning tone. “How have they been??”

“I’ll explain later” Sonic says looking uneasy. “Now what is Eggman looking for?”

Ben looks around is put off by something. “Its not safe here” he says. “Is there anyplace safe where we could go?”

“We could go to my workshop in the Mystic Ruins” Tails says. “It is a bit of a ways away though”

“Its fine, Tails. Better being in the open.” Ben says

“Fastest way is through the Jagged Quarry right?” Sonic asked

“Sounds about right” Tails said.

“Lets do it, to it.” Sonic and Ben says at the same time. They look at each other and yell “Ha!”

“Aha, just like old time, eh Sonic??” Ben says.

“Just like old times.” Sonic says as the trio leave, heading in the direction of the quarry.
